In 1983
Borneo Divers began their dive
trips to Sipadan, the secret oceanic paradise discovered by Ron Holland.
Subsequently, Mr. Holland welcomed underwater explorer Jacques Cousteau and his
film crew to Sipadan Island which resulted in Mr. Cousteau’s movie “Borneo:
Ghost of the Sea Turtle”. This documented Sipadan’s beauty and lush marine
life, bringing the island international fame.
In 1984
Clement Lee became a certified
PADI dive instructor and pioneered the very first dive school in Tanjung Aru
with the approval of PADI’s American headquarters. Inspired to share his
passion for diving with more people, Lee also founded the first Child Academy
in Sabah, produced Malaysia’s first female dive instructor.
Today, 34 years on
Borneo Divers is proud to still
be the leading professional dive operation in Sabah, Malaysia. With operations
on both the East and West Coasts of Sabah, Borneo Divers really does have the
best of both worlds. Our team of PADI professionals at the institute range from
Divemasters to Course Directors (the highest accolade available within PADI).

shore dives without guide at our Mabul house reef except on arrival and

equipment rental is RM 95 per day person.)
√ Tanks, weights and weight belt are provided.
Diving is subjected to our dive schedules and regulations from our dive centre.

X SIPADAN TRIP:
Diver who wishes to dive at Sipadan
will need to apply and pay for a permit whereby the allocation and approval is under the management of Sabah Parks.
Due to the permit restrictions whereby our resort has an allocation of 14
permits only out of the 120 persons, we can only
guarantee one day diving to Sipadan Island if you stay a minimum of a 5 Days and 4 Nights Package. This guaranteed Sipadan permit of RM 40 per person per day entry has to be paid in advance and priority
goes to guests who are taking Diver package.
Sample of 5Days/4Nights Dive
package (if you check in with the 1000am boat transfer in):
Day 1 = Boat transfer in at 1000am.
Two guided house reef dives after lunch. No boat dives.
Day 2/3/4 = 3 boat dives around
Mabul/Kapalai (2 days) / 4 boat dives around Sipadan (1 day).
Day 5 = No diving. In order to
follow the no diving 24 hours before flying, please book your flight after 1500pm.
*Total guided dives = 12 dives.
